Coins Uploaded :D 01/17/2010 at 19:26

Hello, I just felt like mentioning that my Unreal3 game prototype has been uploaded. Check it out in the projects section.

What am I doing now? Taking a small break, and doing some schoolwork. I am also considering working on a maze type game or something in either XNA or just plain old C++/OpenGL.

Also I wanted to mention Assassins Creed II. What an amazing ending! I really cannot wait for the third episode of this franchise because its mythology keeps getting more and more mind bending. After finishing the game I believe the next one will probably come out in 2012 just based on the entire mythology from the first and now this game. I am also excited to see what they do with the next game; I really hope it takes place more in the future this time around, and well it kinda has to.

Anyway, I’m off for a small break and to start digging into my school work.

Tomorrow! 01/15/2010 at 21:47

Almost finished with the first build of my coins game :D. Successfully created my dynamic camera system which I can update to include more functions if needed in later builds. All thats left to do is edit some .ini files, fix a couple classes, and finish the test level. So basically I got a long day tomorrow haha.

I got the coins page up but there is no media for it yet. After I finish tomorrow maybe Sunday I will make a video and embed it on the page so its easier to understand.

Also for the 3D Pong I made a mistake and forgot to create the setup file for the executable. So again Sunday that will probably be up.

Otherwise just have been working on cover letters and finishing my resume which should also be up tomorrow.

Cheers.

Coins Update/Site 01/09/2010 at 20:38

Hello.  Just updating on the site and what not. Been working mostly on this “Dynamic Camera” for my Coins UDK game,  today without much success. I think I may have a solution but I will have to try to code it tomorrow as I’m getting headaches. The idea is that I have created a volume with contains a zoom attribute, and as the player enters/exits the volume the camera should zoom in/out etc. My problem that has occurred has been trying to get it to zoom in smoothly without instantly being zoomed. I’m going to try a solution with timer functions tomorrow, as well as try to finish up the level as I want the first early version of this prototype uploaded by Friday.  Heres the first screenshot I decided to take and note the HUD isn’t quite done yet I will work on that tomorrow as well.

Coins Prototype pre-ready

But as to the site, I will probably have information//screenshots up for the UWOGarage project probably Monday sometime. And probably on the weekend I will add my animation project that I did in highschool way back if I can find the video file somewhere in my room. Anyways, thats about it for now. Peace.

Update 01/07/2010 at 00:58

Just got back into London today .. very very long day. Waited forever in Toronto 🙁 ..

Anyways besides relaxing from the day all I’ve really done has made some simple updates to my Unreal3 game that needed to be done. As for the website I tried to get my executable jar for the UWOGarage project to work properly but it wouldn’t run :(. So I figure until I can get the jar to run I am just going to include instructions on the webpage for it(which is still being made) about compiling the source. That should be up sometime on the weekend, as well as some screen shots/early page for the UDK prototype.

Anywho realizing I have class in the morning just now I need to get some sleep. Probably shouldn’t have spent so much relaxing time playing Assassins Creed 2 since I got home from the airport ahh!.

Decisions 01/03/2010 at 00:23

Hmm currently on vacation, I can’t really work on my Unreal3 prototype, however I do have access to Blender. I’m thinking about attempting to create a custom character, rigging it, and creating animations if I can in the next few days before I get to London.

This could allow me to basically add in some more game mechanics to my prototype when I do arrive in London. Things like making my character do slide and dashes or what have you which I wanted to add in for creating a little more depth in the mechanics.

I figure if I figure out the process of creating a simple character in the next few days, I would be able to overtime work on a more complex character for the next iteration of this particular prototype.

Its definitely going to be hard tho seeing as school is starting up this week, and I need to add exiting projects with descriptions and screenshots to the site. But HOPEFULLY I can get all of this done by the end of January or at least a little into February so I can start on something more, and take less pressure off myself.
